THE GLORIOUS MYSTERIES
1- The Resurrection Of Jesus

from Jesus' death
comes the total victory,
life that will never again
be subject to death.

Resurrection by Ulrich Osterloh
Mary: How wonderful to greet my Son after he rose! Let no one doubt that this greatest of God's works has been achieved: the victory of love over sin, suffering and death. This is what he offers you if you believe in his name, Jesus, only Son of the Almighty Father.

A prayer: Blessed Mother, how deep must have been the thoughts of the three days as you awaited the Resurrection in faith! You did not abandon hope, and I pray that I shall never do so.

  1. The new life inaugurated by Jesus brings joy to the whole world. Help us to celebrate it, and to anticipate the glorious fruits it offers to fallen humanity. Now after he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons. (Mark 16:9)
  2. Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?" (John 20:15)
  3. Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away." (John 20:15)
  4. Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to him in Hebrew, "Rabbouni!" (which means Teacher). (John 20:16)
  5. Jesus said to her, "Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'" (John 20:17)
  6. She went out and told those who had been with him, while they were mourning and weeping. (Mark 16:10)
  7. But when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they would not believe it. (Mark 16:11)
  8. Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live..." (John 11:25)
  9. If Christ has not been raised, then our proclamation has been in vain and your faith has been in vain. (1 Cor 15:14)
  10. For to this end Christ died and lived again, so that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living. (Rom 14:9).
